Disable User Account Control notifications

UAC or User Account Control, designed to protect us from harmful applications, is one of the most criticized functions of Windows Vista and 7. The security that it provides is relative, because its annoying dialogue boxes end up being a mere process.
To disable it you have to access the key:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Policies \ System]
There if the following DWORD values, All set 0:
  • EnableLUA
  • FilterAdministratorToken
  • EnableUIADesktopToggle
  • ConsentPromptBehaviorAdmin
  • ConsentPromptBehaviorUser
  • EnableInstallerDetection
  • ValidateAdminCodeSignatures
  • EnableSecureUIAPaths
  • PromptOnSecureDesktop

Add programs or applications to Windows startup

To allow programs or applications to start with Windows you have to access one of the following keys:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Run]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Run]
Create a new string value, rename it, and in the value enter the path to the executable of the application you want it to start.

Uninstall Programs Directly from the Registry

For programs that the uninstaller does not find or give some type of conflict when trying to uninstall them using the Control Panel tool, you must access the following registry key:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Uninstall
In the list of numbered folders, find the one containing the program to be uninstalled, double-click the UninstallString value and paste the content in the command console window, if the folder still continues in the registry, delete it.

Change the default location of special folders in Windows

The path to the system folders like Documents, Images, Videos, etc. Can be easily changed in Windows.
To do this navigate to the following key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Explorer \ Shell Folders
In the right pane you will find all the values that set the path to the user's special folders.
Two clicks on any of them and insert the new path to that directory.
Please restart your computer to see the changes.
To change the location of the shared folders, you need to specify it in this other key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Explorer \ Shell Folders
Restart the computer to see the changes.

Remove arrows from shortcuts

If you have multiple shortcuts on your desktop and you want to not display the traditional left arrow that characterizes them, it's easy.
Start Regedit and navigate to the key:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT \ lnkfile
Rename the value: IsShortcut , just add a script before the name, it would look like this: "-IsShortcut".
It is enough, you just have to delete the script to enable the functionality again.
Please restart session to see the changes.
